Woronora River Hall – Available for Hire
Thank-you to all members who wrote submissions and signed petitions. Thanks Marelle Burnum Burnum for speaking at council regarding preserving and Maintaining Hall.
The Woronora River Hall is once again available for community hire.
All bookings must now be made directly through Sutherland Shire Council’s venue booking system.
Please note that the hall will be temporarily closed at a later date for planned upgrade works. The timing of these works will be confirmed by
Council, and bookings will not be available during the construction period.
We encourage community groups and residents to take advantage of the hall while it is open.

Parking Congestion
Following a request from our new Members , who are concerned about the safety and the parking congestion at the intersection of The Crescent and Prince Edward Park Road Woronora, we are pleased to advise the following action is in progress.WVRA Inc. thank council for their prompt reply to this request .

Dear Ms Burnum Burnum,
I refer to the representation made on your behalf by Councillor Nikolovski regarding parking in Prince Edward Park Road, Woronora.
Council appreciates the time you have taken to provide photos and highlight the concerns and recognises that appropriate parking arrangements are important not only for residents but also for patrons of local businesses in the area.
Council’s Traffic Team has inspected the location and observed vehicles parked contrary to the Road Rules, including on yellow edge lines, at bus stops, and on grass verges. These instances have been referred to Council’s Enforcement Team for action to help maintain safety and access for all road users.
In addition, Council will be progressing the formalisation of parking controls in the area, including additional signposting and linemarking. These measures will be carefully designed to balance the needs of residents and local business patrons. Proposed changes will be subject to consultation with the community and will be presented at an upcoming Local Transport Forum meeting before consideration at a full meeting of Council.
In the meantime, any instances of illegal parking can be reported directly to Council’s Enforcement Team via the Council Call Centre on 9710 0333.
Council thanks you for raising these concerns and will continue to monitor the area to support safe and accessible parking for the community.

This MAGNIFICENT Reptile was sighted in Woronora yesterday in a residents yard!!!
This exquisite Photo (taken by a member of our Association WVRA Inc. ) has him yawning after a meal to realign his jaws !!!
This further stresses the importance of caring for country knowing we have such a variety of native animals in our shire from KOALAS to DIAMOND PYTHONS !
Let's keep our Shire in balance, free of chemicals with abundant trees and vegetation, along with clean waterways !
