Woronora Valley Residents Association INC. history

Founding of the Association

Woronora Valley Residents Association was founded in the 1970s.

Norman Dixon and others originally founded the action group Woronora River Residents Environmental Action Commitee. The name of the association has been changed multiple times, it was shortened to Woronora Valley Association and then was renamed as Woronora Precinct Committee to conform briefly with a new Council system. The association was eventually named Woronora Valley Residents Association Inc. after the association was incorporated.

Playing an Active Role in the Community

The association is dedicated to playing an active role within the Sutherland Shire with a primary focus on environmental and community concerns in the Woronora Valley.
